You may think that the idea of disposable baby bottles is a bit silly, as these are something your babies use for an entire year after birth. However, not everyone wants to reuse and rewash bottles, and some people actually use very few of them. Instead of spending money on something that you are not going to use much, or for those times when you are away from home and you don't want to forget your bottles, disposable bottles may be a great idea. If you have ever left a bottle in your car only to find it three days later, you know that something you can throw out may not be a bad idea.
Some baby bottles are cheap and perhaps going through a few of them through loss or through forgetting them somewhere is not a huge problem, but some of the newer bottles on the market are more expensive. Brands like Avent, Dr. Browns, and Soothie are made to help keep colic in check by minimizing the amount of gas your baby swallows while eating. These are expensive in comparison to simple bottles, but also well worth the price. Losing a few of these can be painful though. Wouldn't it be nice to never worry about that again?
Certainly disposable baby bottles are not going to give you the same benefits as these bottles, but they are going to save you from losing the ones you paid good money for when you are out for the day or visiting relatives and friends. You simply use these and then throw them out. This is not a good investment for each and every feeding of your baby (nor is it good for the environment) but it is a great option for traveling, camping, and anything else you may do with your family.
Breastfeeding moms may also find some benefit in disposable baby bottles. They hope to feed exclusively from the breast, but that is not always an option. When there comes a time when pumping and bottle feeding breast milk might be a better option, but it is not something that will be done a lot, disposable bottles are a great choice, as long as you can find something you like. They can be tossed and you don't have to worry about cleaning them and keeping them sterile. They should be sterile right out of the package and then thrown out when done.
If your baby has specific feeding needs that require a specific type of nipple or bottle feature, these disposable baby bottles may not be the right choice for you. However, if you can use them when you want to be free of worry about getting your expensive bottles home in one piece, these may be a great choice for occasional use. See how your baby does with them. Remember that if they use specific gas reducing bottles they may not do well with them, but you won't know until you try. They can certainly make life easier if you find a use for them.
